| El Perro Andaluz is Dresden’s newest ensemble of contemporary music. We take a glance beyond conventional musical borders. This remarkable feature is further emphasized by the fact that our musicians come from six different countries. Within this multicultural background contemporary musical, artistic and social processes encounter. | Originate from Brian Ferneyhough portrait concert at the Dresden University of Music, El Perro Andaluz combines since 2007 the continous inquisitiveness of varied forms of musical interaction with the knowledge of the essential definition of one’s position. Thus, opera, theatrical music performance, installations and projects concerning music teaching belong to our activities in the same way as classical forms of concert. | ||
| In the past our ensemble carried out several projects in cooperation with composers such as Brian Ferneyhough, Isabel Mundry, Steffen Schleiermacher, Martin Smolka, Bernhard Lang, Friedrich Schenker, Vladimir Tarnopolski, Rebecca Saunders. | El Perro Andaluz made its debut in 2010 at the Dresden Music Festival (Dresdner Musikfestspiele) and will be attending several projects in Europe. In 2011 the ensemble was rewarded with the Kultur- und Förderpreis of the city of Dresden. |
